Throughout the course of my design degree I've been required to take notes in a very different way to any style of note-taking that I've done before. It's called Sketch Notes, where you interpret the content (of lectures) in a visual way both to enhance your own understanding of that content and to help with recall when you return to it. 
While it has been very challenging for me to learn this technique, to shift my brain into that visual analysis mode and to condense the content of my learnings to ten points over one (or two) page(s), it has been a rewarding challenge! And now looking back over the notes that I've taken, I can take pride in the interesting connections that I've made
and the beautiful way I've learned to layout information - a way that is also meaningful to me.
